"Drip painting is nearly a fringe art that borders on the line of brilliance and amateur. On one side you have the self righteous prick that thinks spending 2 seconds splashing paint on a piece of sketch paper is art. On the other you have people like Ben Walker who uses an accessible technique to develop solid images with a great amount of skill. Ben Walker is a Southern California local boy hailing out of Santa Ana. His latest project, LOVE SEX DEATH: A Story About a Nobody is a collection of works that uses drip paint to create images of human figures in naughty, dirty and raunchy poses. There is a great commentary that can be taken out of these paintings about the duality of the human figure being so broken and ’splattered’ matched with the context of the images themselves."
